So Much Better In Color...

This is 'Network' from Mary Konior's book, 'Tatting With Visual Patterns'.
In the book this piece is shown all in white.  I must have passed over this pattern a million times before finally deciding to tat it.
Lizbeth size 20
#607 Charcoal Med & #633 Purple Dk
See?  So much better in color!

This piece was so quick to tat!  Mostly chains.  Two afternoons and done!
I am so glad I tried this, and so happy with the way this turned out.
My Husband picked the colors,
so I thought it was only right to let him take it to work and use on his desk.
I am so close to tatting every pattern in this book, just a couple more to try.

Here is Smudge...
she is keeping my doily company.

Finally, Flowerpiece...

Finally...it's complete!
This was a long time in the making.
I started this about a year ago.  Not liking any of my color choices so I decided to re-make it.
And again, not liking those choices, it sat for too long.
So, finally about a year later, I decided to re-make it yet again...

683 Leaf green lt, 630 Peach lt & 603 Ecru
Success!  Third time is a charm!
I love the way this came out.
Not the quickest of projects, however, there were a lot of ends to hide.
I made sure I hid them as I went.  If I had waited until the end, I probably never would have completed this.

And here is Moe...
not playing with my thread.

It's a Konior kind of day...

First, Mary Konior's 'Dress Trim'
Not too sure how this would look as a trim for a dress...
but maybe that's just because I don't wear dresses.
Lizbeth size 20
#105 Confetti
Mary Konior's pattern, 'Duet' from 'Tatting with Visual Patterns'
I had to tat it because I thought it looked really pretty, I like asymmetrical things.
Each motif has a unique shape to it.  Really odd size rings.
This color was really fun to work with also.
Love it.

Next is Mary Konior's 'Patchwork'
Lizbeth size 20
#132 Tropical Punch
&
#684 Leaf Green Med
Pattern is from same book
I have made this in the past a few times...
tatted in all one solid color,
and rings in one color and chains in another.

Both ways didn't seem to work as well as this way.

This is four motifs put together.  I love how this motif is kind of like two designs in one.

Maybe I will add more to this...
placemat...
or table runner...
We'll see.
This officially completes my 'first' 25 motif challenge'.

But for now, here's Smudge...

She is thinking...
25 done?? Already???

A Very Bright Mother's Day

Woke up Mother's Day to find this:
My new Ott Light
This was from my Man and my Sons.
I guess he really does listen when I complain about not being able to see my tatting.
Thank You Honey!!
I LOVE it!

Now for some tatting...

Just finished remodeling our bathroom.
I couldn't find a window curtain that I liked, so I went with
very pretty hand towels.
Too pretty to wipe hands on, I thought they made great curtains.
And, of course I just had to embellish them...

And here is Moe,
he is enjoying my new light as well.

Collar turned Doily...

This was actually a pattern for a tatted collar.
See?
I really liked the pattern so I thought why not make it a doily...
So I did.
And here is a close-up
Pattern is from Lyn Morton's book 'Tatting Patterns'
Lizbeth size 20 thread, Color #651--Blue Med. & DMC Cebelia size 20 White
I never tatted a collar before, so I was really hoping it would turn out looking like a doily.
My biggest issue was that the doily was puckering while adding the second row.
Major blocking would have to happen to get this to lay flat.

YES!!  It worked!!

Here is Smudge,
she says, "I thought this was a blog about me!"

Which WIne Is Mine...

No more asking that question.
I love wine charms, I must've made dozens of them in the past with beads and charms.  But I thought why not tat a set...
So I did.

Motif's 13-18 of 25-motif challenge

Just a basic tatted flower, with a drop bead in the bottom petal.
I put two picot's in the top petal to thread the ring through.

These are so fun to make, and quick--less than ten minutes per flower.

These were tatted with Lizbeth size 20 thread in various colors.

Here is Moe having some fun with catnip.
He is about 14 years old, we call him a grumpy old man...
But give him some nip and he turns in to a kitten!

Pimped Mason Jar

Pimped my mason jar.
Lizbeth size 20
#115 Springtime
I have dry skin.
I make my own moisturizer.
This is inexpensive, all natural, so easy AND it works way better than the store bought ones.

Mason jars are perfect for storing the moisturizer,
but I thought the lid needed to look just as pretty as the jar and its contents.
Pattern is 'Leaf Braid' from Mary Konior's book, 'Tatting With Visual Patterns'

I see many more of these in the future.  These are going to make great gifts.

Here's Smudge,
she is probably wondering if
I am going to pimp her collar next....
